Give Us Your Ideas
NOAA and other federal and state agencies are leading efforts to assess impacts to, and determine appropriate restoration for, Gulf resources injured by the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. We are in the process of identifying the types of restoration activities that will be appropriate to restore the natural resources impacted by the spill. The public scoping comment period for the Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) is now closed. You can still read others’ comments from the public scoping period.
Though the public scoping period is complete, you can still make your voice heard by submitting a project idea.
Restoration Project Ideas
If you have project ideas, you can submit them online. You can also view projects that have been submitted for consideration.
When and How Will My Project Be Considered?
Your project ideas are being evaluated as part of Early Restoration planning and also will be considered when a final Deepwater Horizon oil spill restoration plan is developed. All projects approved by the trustees will be subject to public review and comment. Projects selected for Early Restoration will be implemented using the $1 billion from the BP agreement.
